Light Breaks the Room

A two-act drama about family, truth, and the limits of protection

Trent has spent his life trusting the people closest to him. But when information about his own body comes to light, that trust begins to fracture.

Light Breaks the Room is an intimate family drama about what happens when love becomes entangled with secrecy, protection, and control. As Trent begins to understand what has been kept from him, the people around him are forced to confront a harder question: Who gets to decide which truths another person is ready to hear?

At its heart, the play is about autonomy and the damage that can be done with the best of intentions. Light Breaks the Room asks whether trust can survive the discovery that the people who loved you were also the people who decided what you were allowed to know.
