Final Stop Before Home
A one-act drama set during a single AA meeting in New Orleans
One room. One meeting. A group of people trying to make it through another day.
Set entirely during an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in New Orleans, Final Stop Before Home brings together people whose lives have taken very different paths but who, for this hour, occupy the same chairs and follow the same ritual. As stories are shared and defenses begin to slip, the distance between strangers grows unexpectedly small.
Intimate, funny, and unsentimental, Final Stop Before Home is about addiction and recovery, but also about the strange grace of being witnessed by people who owe you nothing. It asks what it means to tell the truth in a room where everyone already knows how good people can become at hiding it.
