Dr. Josh Hyatt
PLAYWRIGHT
Dr. Josh Hyatt is a playwright whose work explores what happens when ordinary people are pushed into uncomfortable moral territory, often with humor close at hand. His plays range from the camp queer horror comedy Brother Queerest and the small-town relationship drama Long Day in a Small Town to Final Stop Before Home, What Did the Bear Do?, What We Teach, and the historical drama The Red Bishop. His work is dialogue-driven, written for the stage, and centered on the choices people make when trust, loyalty, and responsibility collide.
Josh has worked in theatre for 25 years and has been writing plays for 15. Josh’s writing draws on more than 35 years in healthcare leadership, ethics, patient safety, and risk management.
He holds a Master of Bioethics from Harvard Medical School, as well as a Doctor of Health Science and Master of Health Law from Nova Southeastern University.
His plays ask a deceptively simple question: What do we owe one another when it matters?
